Artists from Finland, the UK and Portugal work in this residency were collaborative and cross disciplinary work between artists, the community of Avis and emerging artists from each country was done. Works produced included a mobile performance with 20 short presentations of projections, music, sculptures and dance at sites around the town. Final work was the Rapid Festival with Friday and Saturday night public art events showing innovative film, dance, music, installation and drama works. All works were original and produced during the residency. Convent - This work was shown as the final work of the residency. Part of the Rapid Arts Festival it took place on Saturday evening. This work transformed the large convent building in the town square. Two screen films gave the illusion of imagery coming in and going out of the corner. As the film played musicians led by conductor Tim Steiner improvised around a devised piece in response to the imagery. Musicians and puppeters improvised under a recycling clothe instalation piece in the main entrance of the church.
Avis municipality has a history of using creatively supporting it's community but an international group of artists who transformed the town for a three week period was new. Many local musicians took part in this residency and workshops were provided for the community to access dance, paint, film making. Most of the town came out on the warm streets to all of the Rapid events.

Sauna - A movil sauna was built by the lake side, people from Avis came to tree different sauna evenings and experience something new. (Press)
